MATERIAL OVERVIEW

The Material

Angolan Quartz is a regional trade name for transparent to translucent quartz associated with Angola. Individual pieces may be colourless to milky and can contain natural fractures, veils, growth features, bands, or mineral inclusions.

A polished surface can produce a bright glass-like finish while still revealing internal structures through the carving. The regional name should only be treated as a provenance statement when the supply chain can support it.
