The Material
Amethyst Cluster consists of multiple quartz crystals attached to a natural matrix rather than a single solid block. The crystals range from pale lavender to deep violet and vary in size, transparency, density, and orientation; the matrix may include quartz, chalcedony, agate layers, or host rock.
The Sculpture
Hand-carved into the elongated form of a raven skull, the sculpture is defined by a rounded cranium, recessed eye sockets, open nasal structures, and a long tapering beak. Fine carved lines separate the upper and lower beak while preserving a smooth, continuous profile across the polished stone. A discreet drilled opening positioned within the eye socket allows a cord to pass through the carving, transforming the piece from a small sculptural object into a wearable statement pendant.
Form & Meaning
The raven skull combines a recognizable avian structure with a long, minimal silhouette. Ravens have long been associated in art and literature with intelligence, observation, memory, and the boundary between the familiar and the unknown.
