MATERIAL OVERVIEW

The Material

Blue Chalcedony is a blue variety of chalcedony, generally pale to medium blue and translucent to semi-translucent with soft cloudy or subtly banded variation. Fine internal texture and colour zoning can vary from piece to piece.

Its fine-grained structure can take a smooth waxy-to-glassy polish. Thinner carved areas may transmit more light, while natural fractures and fine edges require careful handling.
