MATERIAL OVERVIEW

The Material

Labradorite is a plagioclase feldspar material that can show grey, green-grey, or dark body colour with flashes of blue or blue-green depending on lighting and viewing angle. Natural fractures, cloudy areas, darker zones, and mineral inclusions may also be visible.

A polished surface can enhance both the glassy body colour and the angle-dependent optical flash. The position and strength of the colour effect vary with the orientation of the material, the carved surface, and the light source.
