The Material

Dream Amethyst is a commercial name for Chevron Amethyst, where purple amethyst alternates with white or milky quartz in V-shaped, zigzag, or banded patterns. The appearance of the pattern changes with the direction of the cut.

Carving exposes different sections of the alternating bands, so each finished piece can show a distinct balance of purple and white quartz across its curved surfaces.
