Sculpture & Aesthetics
Some skulls earn a place on the shelf; a little one can come with you. We like the familiarity of a skull pendant against an everyday shirt: that small grin, close enough to reach for without thinking. Choosing one often comes down to a particular face or a patch of color in the stone. Small things can become favorites very quickly.
Carving at this scale makes us pay close attention to what gives the face its character. The brow, eye sockets, cheekbones, and tiny teeth have to remain clear as the stone is shaped and polished. A metal bail at the crown provides the attachment point. We want it to reward a closer look, with enough detail to enjoy in your hand as well as when you wear it.
Black Obsidian
Black Obsidian is natural volcanic glass formed when silica-rich molten rock cools too rapidly to develop an orderly crystal structure. It is typically black to brownish black, takes a highly reflective polish, and may show subtle natural variations in tone, inclusions, or flow structure.
I believe in obsidian’s grounding, protective energy and its connection with truth. I would keep it close as a boundary around my own energy, especially when other people’s negativity starts taking up too much space in my day.

Details & Care
Material properties
- Hardness & Specific Gravity
- Mohs: approximately 5–5.5
SG: approximately 2.3–2.6
Natural Variation & Care
Natural veils, inclusions and variations in color are part of the material’s character. Appearance may vary with lighting and screen settings.
Protect its glassy edges and fine details from drops, hard impacts, and contact with harder stones. Clean with water and a soft cloth; do not use abrasive products.
Avoid pulling or twisting the metal bail, and inspect the bail, cord and knots periodically. Remove the pendant before bathing, swimming, exercise or sleep. Protect the carved teeth and jaw from impact, and store it separately when not in use.
Shipping & Returns
Each piece is carefully packed to protect its carved surfaces during transit.
