The Sculpture

Hand-carved from a single piece of natural Indian agate, The Twofold Witness features a half-profile skull crowned by a finely detailed raven. Natural bands of soft pink-purple, rust-orange, and deep charcoal create a striking duality: demonic fangs on the darker side contrast with human teeth on the lighter side.

The raven emerges from the same stone, with intricately carved feathers and a natural white mineral vein across its back. A polished gold-tone metal stand completes this distinctive sculptural composition.

Form & Meaning

The human and demonic features embody the opposing forces within human nature—reason and instinct, restraint and temptation, light and shadow. Neither side exists in isolation; together, they form a single, complex identity. Perched above the skull, the raven becomes a silent witness to this inner struggle, symbolizing observation, intelligence, and the search for truths hidden beneath the surface. The sculpture invites reflection on the dualities that shape who we are.

Display & Placement

Presented on its gold-tone metal stand, this one-of-a-kind sculpture makes a striking focal point for a private library, study, or collector’s display, especially alongside natural minerals and Gothic-inspired art.

One-of-One Commitment & Care

This is the exact sculpture shown in the photographs. Its agate formation, host-rock matrix, inclusions, and color distribution belong to this individual stone. Once acquired, this specimen will not be restocked.

Dimensions and weight are measured by hand and may vary slightly from the stated specifications.

Care: Dust the sculpture gently with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. Use a soft-bristled brush to remove dust from detailed feather carvings and recessed areas. Avoid soaking, harsh cleaners, and abrasive materials.

Handling: Support the sculpture securely by its main stone body when moving it. Avoid applying pressure to the raven’s beak, wings, tail feathers, or the thin edges of the skull carving.

Storage: Keep the sculpture securely seated on its fitted gold-tone metal stand, on a stable, level surface away from edges and direct impacts. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and sudden temperature changes.
