Sculpture & Aesthetics
An alien head has a way of making a shelf feel a little less ordinary. We like that unreadable face: the wide eyes, the small mouth, the oversized curve of the head. Look at it for a while and its expression seems to shift. Curious? Unimpressed? Quietly studying whoever has just walked into the room? Giving it a place among familiar things is part of the pleasure.
In carving it, we keep coming back to the eyes and the outline of the head. Small changes around the brow and narrow lower face can change its entire character. The smooth cranium gives the stone's color and markings room to show, while the recessed contours keep the gaze distinct. We enjoy that meeting of an unfamiliar visitor with a material that belongs very much to this planet.
Leopard Skin Jasper
Leopard Skin Jasper is a commercial name for patterned carving rock, commonly associated with spotted or orbicular rhyolitic material. Its opaque surface combines cream, beige, grey, black, brown, rust red and ochre tones in rounded spots, rings, broken arcs and irregular markings.
Dense material can take a smooth, bright polish that brings these contrasting patterns across the carved surface. Broad curves may reveal complete rings, while smaller details show short arcs and colour fragments. Pattern placement, natural cavities and mineral boundaries vary from piece to piece.
I believe in leopard skin jasper’s energy of grounding, self-discovery, and growth. I would choose a carving as company for a new chapter, with the intention of staying steady while I find my own direction.

Details & Care

- Surface
- Polished
- Hardness & Specific Gravity
- Mohs: variable; commonly referenced around 6–7

Natural Variation & Care
Natural veils, inclusions and variations in color are part of the material’s character. Appearance may vary with lighting and screen settings.
Clean with lukewarm water, mild soap, and a soft cloth, then dry. Protect thin edges and natural fractures from impacts, harsh chemicals, thermal shock, steam, and ultrasonic cleaning.
Support the sculpture by its main body or solid base. Protect projecting details and thin carved edges from knocks and pressure.
Shipping & Returns
Each piece is carefully packed to protect its carved surfaces during transit.
